Lomprayah Koh Tao Pier is 150 m from the property, making the final stretch a short walk; pick-up truck taxis also operate around the island. Ferry journeys take 1.5–2 hours from Koh Samui and 45–90 minutes from Koh Phangan, while Chumphon crossings take about 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours. Mae Haad Beach and the nearby coves suit swimming and snorkelling, while diving is the island's main activity, with more than 25 sites around Koh Tao. Sairee, north of Mae Haad, has a 1.8 km beach lined with dive schools, restaurants and beach bars; a flat coastal path links the villages in about 15 minutes on foot. The Rama V Shrine is 300 m away, and the viewpoint over Sairee Beach and Koh Nang Yuan is 1.5 km away. The west and south coasts are generally calmer from November to March, while whale sharks are most often seen from March to May and September to October.
